Welcome to Collector's Profile. We would like to introduce you to our first guest for this column.

      Pol.Lt.Gen. Niyom Kanchanawat. He is one of Thailand's biggest vintage car collectors. He started collecting Antique and Classic cars 30 years ago. He now has in his possession of more than 30 cars. His collection comprises cars of the finest models of the great marques that show craftmanship, design and collectability. Some of his cars are hand-assembled and rare.
                      

" My love of Antique and Classic cars started since I was studied in England during the early 50s. Antique and Classic cars are getting more and more priceless. Some of the cars are really distinctively rare and can't be found elsewhere."

                    

" Whenever I'm home, I spend a lot of time on maintaining these cars. Maintainance is costly, but it is worthy because I feel proud that at least I have preserve our Auto heritage for the next generation."

                   

" Students and young people today have turned to Antique and Classic cars. It is good because these cars in Thailand can be preserved. And it also shows an acceptance of truly valuable things, I am very touched indeed."

              

Pol.Lt.Gen Niyom and his friends are planing to organize an exhibition, or setting up a museum and opening it to the public in the near future.
